We were invited to Zwartkops racetrack for a fun-filled day to celebrate the release of the movie. Ford V Ferrari, which openened in cinemas in South Africa on 22 November, 2019.

Ford V Ferrari, directed by James Mangold, is a studio-made crowd-pleaser led by Academy Award winners Christian Bale and Matt Damon. FORD V FERRARI dramatizes the Ford Motor Co.’s drive to dethrone the reigning power of international racing, Ferrari, at the 1966 Les Mans, the classic 24-hour endurance race. Damon plays automotive designer Carroll Shelby; Bale plays the headstrong driver Ken Miles. It’s a movie about obsession and drive, in which Shelby and Miles are often chafing at the constricting corporate dictates of Ford.

All the cars in the film FORD v FERRARI (GT40’s, Cobra’s and Daytona’s) were built in South Africa at Hi-Tech Automotive in PE under the Shelby license. This is the same process for all Shelby legendary cars globally.
